Put your 35 Summilux ASPH where your Money was
Week 23 -Graduation Day on 5th and North Avenue, ©2001 Lottermoser
As I drove east on North Avenue, towards a breakfast meeting with the designer and writer for the Villa Terrace Gate book, I saw this young lady in her amazing dress crossing the street in front of my 87 Dodge van. I had just aquired the 35mm Summilux ASPH, and immediately thought she was the perfect subject for the first exposur through this new lens. I turned right, and right again into a parking lot and quite uncourteously, right in front of her and her mother, jumped out of the van, and asked, "Would you mind if I photographed your daughter? She looks so beautiful in that lace dress." The mom was understandably surprised; but said OK. Not until I looked through the also new .58 TTL rangefinder did I realize that we stood in front of the nation's first and only Black Holocaust Museum.
